To join an online-class organized by your teacher you have decided to use Zoom. Being your first experience with this type of service, however, you have not yet figured out how to proceed. Am I right? Then I will be happy to explain how to activate Zoom.

I will give you the detailed procedure for creating a free account, both from computers and from smartphones and tablets. C’mon: make yourself comfortable, cut out five minutes of free time and read the next paragraphs. I assure you that, following my instructions and trying to put them into practice, you will be able to activate Zoom. You’ll succeed without encountering any type of issue.

How to activate Zoom from PC

Before explaining how to activate Zoom for free, it may be useful to know which features are included in the free version of the service. Well, it is possible to make unlimited video calls to a single user and also group video calls, although with a time limit of 40 minutes.

Having clarified this, to activate Zoom Meeting without putting your hand to the wallet, connected to the official website of the service. Click on the  button at the top right, and specify your date of birth via the drop-down menus for Month, Day and Year. After that, press the Continue button, enter your email address in the Your work email address field and click on the Sign up button.

At this point, access your email, locate the email sent by Zoom and press the Activate account button. On the new page that opens, indicate whether you are activating Zoom on behalf of your school. So place a check mark next to the option of your interest between Yes and No, and press the Continue button.

Then, depending on your previous choice, fill in the registration form with your school data or with your personal data: First name, Last name, Password and Confirm password. Then click on the Continue button to activate Zoom.

Now, do you you want to invite your colleagues or people of your interest to create an account on Zoom? In this case, enter their email address in the appropriate field. Then affix the check mark next to the I’m not a robot option to verify your identity. And, finally, click on the Invite button. Alternatively, select the Skip this step option, to access your account and start using Zoom Meeting.

Activation from Android and iPhone

Zoom is also available as an application for Android devices and iPhone/iPad. Using the app in question, you can create your free account.

After downloading Zoom from your device store, start the app and select the Sign up option. In the new screen displayed, specify your date of birth, press the Confirm button. Then enter the required data in the fields Email address, First name and Last name and tap on the Sign up button.

At this point, access your email, locate the email sent by Zoom and press the Activate account button. Therefore, specify if you are activating a Zoom account for your school or for personal use. Enter your data in the First name, Last name, Password and Confirm password fields and press the Continue button.

Finally, you can choose to invite other people to use Zoom, by entering their email address in the name@domain.com field. Alternatively, you can select the Skip this step option, to proceed further. Once this is done, start the app again, press the Sign in option. Enter the account data just created in the Email address and Password fields and tap the Sign in button, to log in and start using Zoom.
